So I bought a house...

I found a great bargin that I could pay cash for out of my moms estate proceeds. Thats the good, the bad:  Renters.  Who smoked.  In the house. A lot.  The Ugly: Brown paint. In Every Room!!!  Really?

So this week has been all about priming the walls, and getting ready to move in this weekend.  Its a project house, needs new decks and porches, the landscaping is well, there isn't any.  But, its mine all mine and I have lots of time to work on it. 

New Year, New Me?

Well it's been a long while since my last post.....apparently I suck at this?! So much has happened, both my parents have passed away, Ace has moved to a new home in the country - its a Llama farm :) so it's just Maggie and me.

My birthday was Friday, 49. Wow, after all the crap I have done it is rather a miracle that I am still alive and sane.

I am working on several projects right now, painting chairs to turn into planters. I will post pictures soon. I did one last year for my sis-in-law and it turned out great.

I discovered some new blogs from some fantastically skilled women who make great things and they are attached for your viewing pleasure.

Woof! Ace here, I knocked the mama lady off the couch and got the omputer for a second. That's my picture on "my"couch. Yep I have my very on couch, and its way comfy too. Before I got my new family I never had a couch, or a house, or even toys; well, unless the trash cans count as toys. I love it here, the food is good, the toys are plentiful and the bed is almost big enough for the mama lady and me. Gotta run, she is getting up now.

And a year later.....my second post. So much has happened I could not even begin to describe it all.

Short version, cat died, house sold, new house fell thru - egads i am homeless, found a new house, moved (the horror) and still unpacking 3 months later. Pictures of the furries coming, i think.

Big. Blank. Page. I really want to have a deeply thought provoking opening entry for my blog. Sadly, all I can think of is when will that pizza delivery guy show up already. Geez we are starving over here. Ace is looking at the cat and thinking it would make a good aperitif.

Oh, where is here you ask. Well, let me share, here is the upstate area of South Carolina. Also known as the foothills area. I grew up here, left for school, left to get married, came back, left and so on.....it's a nice place although I might be a little prejeduced about my home town. The light in the morning when the sun is coming up over the hill into my back pasture is like nothing I have ever seen before. Burgundies, pinks, reds and all shades coral light mornings. Heaven.

Ace, aka Ace the Destroyer is one of the many furries who share my hunble, and now decrepit home. According to his pedigree he is a champion German Shepherd dog - and the shocking reality is that he is a one dog wrecking crew. Hence decrepit home. He also has a lot to say and will probably "speak" on occasion.

Maggie, Princess Mary Margret Lab, is a labrador retreiver 13 years young and sassy. She is my heart and thinks great thoughts but is too spoiled to tell anyone.
